I've just installed this and, overall I'm delighted with it. There are a couple of issues though.

1) I normally browse in Firefox and the site looks great except for the very bottom of the pages - there seems to be a bit missing - I have a couple of lines of black space at the bottom of every page.

2) I looked at the site in IE to see if this was a browser issue and I can't see my site at all! I get a blank page. On viewing the source, all that's on there is :

Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<META http-equiv=Content-Type content="text/html; charset=windows-1252"></HEAD>
<BODY></BODY></HTML>

My final problem is how to edit the header image. I don't have PhotoShop but I do have PSP 7. When I try and open the image in PSP I get "undefined error 565". I've looked this up and found the following information at http://www.short-media.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-7791.html

Quote:
Paint Shop Pro 7 is able to open most Photo Shop 6 .PSD files. However, if the .PSD file contains any proprietary information in it such as Vector content, or Adjustment Layers Paint Shop Pro may not be able to view the file.

Is there any way around this without investing in expensive software?

Thanks

The site isn't coming up for me at all.
If you want, PM me an admin account and a FTP account and I will take a look.

I've realised why the site doesn't load. If I put http://elders.me.uk in the browser it loads a blank index.html file that was in the home folder. I've deleted it so that now the only index file that's in there is the index.php - unfortunately it still won't load unless I specify the filename in the URL. The good news is that the site looks identical in both Firefox and IE.

I've created an admin user for you and pm'd you the details.

Hi Mars

I see you fixed the way the bottom of the page displayed - thanks for that Smile I have a couple of little things I need to change in terms of text colours - I'm happy to have a go myself but am not sure what I need to change or where it is.

The first thing is that throught the theme forms are displayed on a parchment coloured page, however the field labels are all in the same gold colour used for a lot of the other labels etc. On the forms the fields labels are almost invisible - is is possible to change them? Preferably without changing anything else on the site. A good place to see an example of this is if you follow the "Submissions" link ont he site.

The other things is that the links at the top of the forums pages (to profile etc) are in red - we have one member who is colour blind and finds it very difficult to see the red against a dark background. If possible I would like to change it to a different colour. I'd wondered about a nice WoW blue Smile

Thanks - Trabyna

For the first one, open themes/wow10/style/style.css and change the color for label to #000000

For the forums, I will look into it and post back, that one isn't as simple.
Smile

I am running into the same problem with having so much black at the bottom of my screen.

Also my WOW10 theme is missing a file.....

http://forbidden-lore.com/modules/PNphp ... _small.gif

I have checked the .zip file that i d/l'ed and it is not there. Otherwise everything seems to be working great....can someone assist me with this??

Would someone be willing to ftp to my site, look at the files, and ensure that everything is installed correctly? My host has SQL built in to it, however it is not showing that postnuke is using an sql database. Can someone look at this for me?

Sorry for so many noob questions..

Thanks in advance..

Taliesen

Go into the forums admin and turn off the PNphpBB2 logo option.
Then go into Admin - AutoTheme - Extras and turn off AutoTheme credits and page render time.

Mars,

Thanks for the advice. I turned off the logo option under PNphpBB2 which solved that one issue.

Auto Theme Credits was defaulted to OFF.

Auto Theme Render - I had to turn off.

This solved a lot of my problems - thank you.

Now on to more questions....

The host I am using had postnuke preinstalled. However, under my web site control panel it shows 0 out of 10 SQL data bases in use....

I looked at my config.php file and it looks as though it is pointing to an outside IP address with a user name and password......

This is another noob questions but....am I actually using an SQL database and it is not showing in my control panel because it is offsite....or......is it saved in some file on my server???

Just curious as to how i can check this. Thanks for all your help in advance...

You have to be using MySQL as the site wouldn't run without it.
Did your host setup the site and database for you?

All I know is that i went under the control panel and select postnuke to be installed. After that it was about a 20 min wait time and it was installed.

The odd thing is that it installed it into /postnuke/html directory and not the root directory for the site. So anytime anyone went to forbidden-lore.com nothing happened. I had to copy the html subfolders and files to the root directory so that my members could access the site through http://forbidden-lore.com and not http://forbidden-lore.com/postnuke/html/index.php.

Was an odd setup.

When I go into my sql database it says 0 of 10 sql databases running....so i'm not sure what the heck to do. All i know is that the forums, themes, autotheme, and postnuke seems to be working fine.

I just wish I knew what all was going on in the background and understood it so that I could ensure that my site is in fact set up properly.

I hope all this made sense. LoL.

Let me know what you think mars.

Well you are definetely running MYSql somewhere.
I would open a ticket with your host and ask them about it.
