| Wow umm mars, thats a little too much of pricing. You can get regular templates with flash and what not for half as much. |

Really?
I would like you to point out a site that does one off custom themes for less than that.
Sure you can go buy a template that 10,000 other sites are using and try to turn it into a working theme for one of the Nuke systems for 29.00 but it is alot of work and it isn't unique. |

| My own research, thus far, leads me to the conclusion that Mars' pricing scheme is very competitive. Most custom theme designers that I have encountered while web browsing, thus far, charge more. In some instances, considerably more. |

It is worth noting that regular templates are NOT custom themes. Rather, they are themes that anyone else can buy and use, also.
The term "custom theme" means just, exactly that. A custom, unique theme, one of a kind.
Buy a template might be better than some free themes out there, but your odds of encountering that same theme on other websites are pretty good, if you do a lot of web surfing on PostNuke sites. |

| Well okay, maybe what I said is probably not in the field that Mars is talking about. Unique postnuke themes might be expensive but i've seen just regular uniques for 90$. But afterall its pretty much two differnet coding types. (It is but its not, don't get me wrong on that) |

Additionally, I would submit to you, gir, that Mars' themes are often scrutinized by myself, and on many occasions, I have subjected them to extensive critical analysis.
Mars, himself, can tell you, as can Ray, I am sure, that I do not hesitate to criticize Mars' handiwork. Rather, I continually try to drive him to create even better works as he continues making themes in the future.
Mars is committed to continual improvement in the crafting of themes, particularly his custom themes. His custom themes are of a consistently high quality, and he tries to give the customer what the customer wants. Sometimes, though, the customer doesn't really know what they want, which necessarily makes the job more difficult.
If you can find a theme designer whose handiwork is scrutinized more closely than Mars', please provide the link, because I would like to look at them, myself, to see what forms of analysis they utilize in their scrutinization processes. |

| In the field of postnuke, you got me. Also, Im not sure what theme it was for PT you had a flash header with music and a yellow banner. I think 7 or 9 but I've go to say I was extremely impressed by that. I have seen a fair share of anime sites with expertise graphics and its hard to get me in awe but you did it on that one. |

A hundred dollars, or a hundred and fifty dollars, is a lot of money to many. I think that it is. But, remember, if you intend to have your website up a while, especially as a permanent fixture on the World Wide Web, a custom theme is really an investment in your own website.
By being unique, and by having a really top notch look, your web site is already two steps ahead of the average web site.
If you only intend to have a web site up for a couple of months, or if you don't intend to try and transform it into the World Wide Web equivalent of a cool or happening place, then spending $100 or $150 probably wouldn't make a lot of sense. Heck, you can get a free or a donation theme to cover you, if you go that route.
Also, many of Mars' custom themes also incorporate Flash. So, it isn't as if you can only get Flash, by going with a template.
While web browsing, I have been to many sites that share the same template. The template is really a generic theme. That's not to say that all templates look bad, because they don't. Most that I, personally, have seen, though, do not approach most custom themes that I have seen.
Every individual is different, though. To some, a template works in a cinch, and it can often be a cost-effective way of staying under budget. But, much like that TV show, a custom theme is sort of the equivalent of "Pimping Your Ride," Internet style. |

| I am going from memory, so I don't have the links to the sites handy, but the two most recent theme sites that I visited, one of them charged $189 for a custom theme, and the other one charged amost $400. |

Gir,
You do know that by going to My Account, and then by picking Select theme, you can see some of Mars' custom handiwork that he has done previously, don't you? |

| Mars can make a theme for YOU. It will be only yours! Thats the nice thing about it. I still owe Mars big time for all the help he has given me. |

Until I get the pages up for the pricing information here are the current rates for custom themes.
Extended Theme: All of the above with a matching PNphpBB2 theme
$200.00 U.S.

Prices quoted depending on content.
Flash menus, flash headers etc.
Just found your site today. Is this still a valid quote for an extended theme? I have a site at www.highspeeddriving.com that I want converted to a phpnuke because of the portal and what I hear about the admin panel. Please PM or email me at BlackWidow@HighSpeedDriving.com because I'm ready to go. I have a few minor concerns (ie, integration of my current post database, calendar & photos) but we can discuss all that.
Hope to hear from you soon! |
