No offense but I think the "Kizer Online" part is a little generic (the text that is) although I do kinda like everything else so far. Sorry with the "Hosts" and "Sponsors" right side sections it's hard to look at the rest. I was kind ahoping for something along the lines of http://www.thekryptonian.com so I can't wait to see what's next. BTW, to check everything off I have:
Postnuke, Gallery, PnPhbb, At-Lite and even fonts from Superman Homepage.
I'm ready to rock and roll. |

I like the new Kizer Online text in the header, though would prefer that it be stretched, to make it appear that the text has depth to it.
The font, itself, could be greatly improved upon, though. It's just a tad too plain, though I like the thickness/width of it.
I also like the yellow rollover effect for the horizontal row of links at the top, just beneath the header. Can you make it a tad brighter yellow, though?
Overlapping the header graphic with the new Kizer Online text partially obscures the artwok, and that is a negative.
I like the yellow text better than the white, which the yellow replaced, but you need to make a lot of that text, especially the links, in bold, with bold rollover on the red rollover, also.
Small font size should be fat, thick, or otherwise seem to carry more punch and impact. Bold helps to achieve this effect. Superman is symbolic of strength.
Also, I like the initial visual look better than thekryptonian.com. That site simply has more graphicd artwork on display, which helps it a lot, both in the header and in other places. It also has a nicer menu system, but their menu's color schemes aren't all that impressive, nor in keeping with the standard bright and vibrant blue, yellow, and red of Superman's costume.
The color of blue Mars is using is a lot better, in my opinion.
You need more artwork of Superman, or of thinsg that pertain to Superman, especially in the header. Some better borderwork, especially something with impact around the header, so that it encompasses the header graphic, would be a big plus, also.
The title bars of the center block I am not overly fond of. They aren't ugly, per se. Rather, they just don't seem to work well with this particular theme. Also, on the left and right title bars, I think the title text would be better, if centered, and made bold, and maybe even if that font was increased in size.
If you took away the header graphic in thekryptonian.com theme, the theme would look nice, but it wouldn't otherwise just impact upon the site viewer that it was Superman oriented. The more vibrant blue that Mars is using simply "feels" more like Superman than the darker blue used on the other site.
The other site makes good use of contrast, in its overall color scheme, though.
If I may suggest, what if in the center block section, at the very top of the center block, you displayed a nice, big Superman symbol, from off of the front of his costume, that big letter "S?" Think about it - Superman has a big, exaggerated sized symbol on his chest, compared to the rest of his constume. It's big, it's gaudy, it's very much visible and in your face, so to speak. I think that it would work very well. You might could even use a flash effect, where the S starts out, and some slow transitions to a few other Superman-oriented graphics in that big flash letter S.
That background graphic on the right hand side needs to be flipped, so that the diagonal lines in it start at the bottom closest to the center block, and them move up, up, and away as it goes outward towards the far right edge of the screen.
Again, some red in this area might work good, too, since it could conceiveably be viewed such that the left/center/right blocks are the body, and the background graphic on the left and right are the cape. Another possibility would be to make it solid red, and maybe have the S on the back of Superman's cape be visible, but cut in half, so that the left half is on one side, and the right half of that letter S is on the other side. It's all in what you want. Those are just some possibilities.
You could also just use the far left and right edges (at 1024x768 resolution, which I am viewing it at), to display more artwork of Superman. It would basically triple the visual impact of header graphic.
The red links in the horizontal row of links beneath the header, can those be made fatter? I am thinking an intentionally exaggerated fatness. That font looks too rounded. Perhaps a more chiseled font would provide more impact, visually speaking.
You might also want to consider moving the Kizer Online main logo above the header graphic. Maybe even make it arc. If you leave it in the header graphic, what if you make it a lower arc, rather than a normal upper arc? You would have to move that big S in ther right side of the header graphic, but if you used an even bigger S in the center block section, you would be able to do this.
The log in box is too plain. Why not jazz that up a tad?
Also, while the theme looks good without a footer, what if you used the big gold key for Superman's Fortress of Solitude for the footer?
A small item, but one that might work well for your Superman theme, is in the little people icons graphics for the who's online box, what if you changed that graphic to where there were little Supermen?
The blue background that the horizontal row of red links sits atop looks very nice, I feel. I like the top and bottom edging of this blue area a lot.
In the story blocks, what if you make the number of times a story has been read to be in red text, instead of yellow? Perhaps the Comments text, too.
The gray colored log in button could be red with bold yellow lettering.
That Superman S in the header, I very much like the blue effect that surrounds it.
I am nitpicking, of course, but by and large, I like the way that this theme is shaping up a lot more than I like thekryptonian.com theme. Of course, it all ultimately boils down to a matter of personal taste. It's all in what you like. Their theme just doesn't shout "SUPERMAN" like the more vibrant blue theme that Mars has crafted, thus far.
I think it's a great looking theme, just in need of some more refinement. Mars probably wishes that I would shut up, but whether it is more work or less work is not what I use as guidance in analyzing a theme. You may not care, of course, but I am a Superman fan, and so this one really has my interest more than most. |

| Ugh - You moved the title logo/name to the lower left corner of the header graphic, and it also now looks somewhat subdued with a wash effect. It is less vibrant. Put it either above the header graphic, or below it. Don't obscure the art at all, though. |

I am trying to track down the Superman font (not the S symbol), but no luck, so far.
While it isn't a Superman font, and while I don't have Photoshop, here's a Wizardry font with a slight modification, and which I didn't think looked too shabby:

So, do you have a link for this site?
I was curious as to what it ended up looking like. |

| Man, long time no see. Well, I lost my computer and now I've got a new one. I need to re-install everything. Mars, I was wondering if you still had the theme you made for me? Thanks! |

Thanks! WOW, almost a year since you did that too. I'm going to try and update the text lining up right and stuff. Maybe throw some new stuff in there. Hopefully I can. |
