Hello.
Just in the process of getting all the requirements to use this theme first, by checking the free themes that you guys provided.
Just one thing, I have downloaded the following at the bottom, and please, correct me with anything else I need to use on my hosted web service, which is already php enabled and ready to go:

My SQL = mysql-essential-6.0.0-alpha-win32.exe
Nuke 7.9 = PHP-Nuke-7.9
Apache = httpd-2.2.4-win32-src

I assume Nuke 7.9 is a program, just like dreamweaver cs(does HTML for you). If not correct me.

Now, I've spent several hours looking into all 3 of these programs, and several websites mention that if your website supports, and is enabled to use PHP scripts, then there is no need to use those programs above, except Nuke 7.9, which I assume is used to run the program. But other websites do mention that doesn't matter if it is enabled on the host, it's required to use all 3 programs. However, I've spoken to the hosting company/domain company, and they say that My SQL(which apparently is new), that it does support, in fact, a program inside, so all you need to do is upload, and customize inside the admin area, which I was baffled, in other words, confused.

If any of this information is incorrect, please correct me, by giving me links to know more about how to correct it, me downloading a theme, what programs I need to customize this theme, and I'll appreciate it.

The sites require either PHPNuke, PostNuke, Platinum Nuke or MD-Pro as the Content Management System, these get installed to the host which provides PHP, Apache and MySQL. They are NOT like Dreamweaver as these are full blown site management systems and not just html templates.

Once the CMS is installed you then upload themes to the themes directory and tell the CMS to use the theme that you choose.

We offer CMS installation with a theme for a small charge if you are interested in that.

Thanks for your help Mars.

You did mention "these get installed to the host which provides PHP, Apache and MySQL. ", which I assume that it already provides php apache, and mySQL, so I don't necessary need those. So basically, the only thing I need is PHPNuke, and then download the theme, and then add that to the themes directory, which sounds easy enough.

Yes that is the basic idea, I would suggest you get something like EasyPHP and install it locally, then install a local copy of PHPNuke and play around with it until you are comfortable with it. Then you will have an understanding of how a CMS works and can then go forward with a live site.

I am currently on this page doing the tutorials: http://www.frihost.com/forums/vt-44481.html
Quote "We will need a directory where PHP-Nuke files will be uploaded to and a database, where it will store its data. To create a directory, please login to your CPanel control panel and click on the FileManager utility icon. This will open a new window with a list of several files and folders. Click on the 'www' icon to change your current location. (Please, note that you have to click on the icon and not on the text, otherwise FileManager will not change the current working directory, but instead will list you the operations you can perform on the 'www' folder). Also the main frihost directory is called public_html. "

It says "CPanel control panel and click on the FileManager utility icon", but I'm currently using SmartFTP, and I do not see this feature for some odd reason. Am I looking in the wrong area?

You would use SmartFTP and upload the contents of the HTML folder from the phpnuke zip file to the public_html folder on your site.

Great, I created a public_html folder on my site, but this specific website that I'm currently on doesn't specify what program they are using. They keep saying CPanel home, which I have no clue where that button, or feature is. Do you know if that button is on MySQL? If so, I musta missed that.

That is a Hosting Control Panel, if you host doesn't use it then you won't have it.

This is more complicated than I thought: You did mention,
We offer CMS installation with a theme for a small charge if you are interested in that.
Are you able to give me more information about the cms installation for phpnuke?

The first time can be a little daunting.
Here is a link to the install.

Thank you.
Does this also include setting up EVERYTHING, from screenshots, to MySQL?

When I look at the tutorials online, most of them show you screenshots of where most features/functions are during the tutorials if you are not seeing what the tutorial sees.
I had a lot of problems when doing the tutorials online, they say to do something, which I have no clue where that feature is, or which program their referring to.

Once PHPNuke is installed, you can use the PHPNuke Howto on this site to learn the basics of using the site, the entire site and theme will be installed and functional for you if you choose to use us for the install.

I have to run out for a few hours for a Little League All Star game for my daughter, so don't think I have abandoned you if I don't answer again right away. Smile
