Post subject: Themes just not working  PostPosted: Oct 07, 2004 - 11:31 PM

Everytime I install a theme they don't work.

I have a feeling I'm doing something wrong.

I'm running PHP5, latest pn, and Autolite .8.

Where should I be extracting these themes to? I'm sticking them under {Post Nuke root}/Themes/

Am I missing any steps?

chuck

Do the stock themes that came with PostNuke whatever version you have work? Also, did you go into Admin Panel - Modules and initialise and activate AutoTheme? Im not trying to be funny or a smartass. These things happen.

Please give us a few more details if you could suchas the version of pn and what themes you are attempting to make happen. It makes it easier for us to work the problem. Wink

AutoTheme lite .8 doesn't work with PHP5 yet.

So, can I make a theme work without AutoTheme lite?

All the themes that came with postnuke work just fine, just not any I add.

I tried adding simplywhite and ambertech. Both look like they are missing the images.

You could, I think, uninstall autotheme .8 and go back to .7 then you should be able to use any of the .7 themes.

Alright, I put PostNuke 0.7.5 on a server running PHP 4.3.3. I installed Autolite .8.

I then put Simplywhite and ambertech in the themes folder. When I made them the default theme, I get no header, sidebar, and no footer. Just a little '>' in the upper left corner.

The theme 'AutoTheme' works just fine.

Any suggestions?

Copy theme.cfg from AutoTheme to the simplywhite and ambertech folders.

Now the '>' is gone. that is the only difference.

Is theme.cfg world writable?
You need to have 777 set for permissions on theme.cfg

If that doesn't fix it, create a temporary admin account and PM me the login info and site link, and I'll take a look.
