I don't think this is exactly a custom theme issue, though I'm not sure. In either case, if it's not a custom theme issue, I'm not sure where else I can go for help. So...
When I try to create a test user, and I then click on the emailed link for verification, I get an error 404 page in return instead of a successful verification page.
Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? |

What does the URL look like in the email?
Sounds like you don't have the site URL set properly in Admin-Preferences |
