Post subject: Need help getting PHPNuke theme to work  PostPosted: Dec 25, 2006 - 03:22 AM

Yesterday I got phpnuke 8 (most recent version) - it's horribly ugly. So I started my search for a template I'd like. I came here and I purchased the wowhorde3 theme. The email told me to dl and install atlite 87 nuke - the theme version from yoru site is phpnuke, the atlite thing is also phpnuke -so I I think have the correct versions of everything.

I know very little about phpnuke and installing this stuff so perhaps it's a simple problem that has me frustrated. Here's what I did step by step.

I dled phpnuke 8 -installed it. I had zero problems with that other than some autoflood problem with forums that is a known issue and was simple to fix.

I dled the wow theme from here and auto themes. I opened my auto theme folders....and dragged/dropped the

admin
images
modules

folders into my cms folder. I already had these folders there so it just added the files from those folders to my existing ones through my ftp client. I didn't add the themes ones because it says it's not needed. I also added the htm/html/phtml htaccess files that were included in the atlite_87_nuke folder.

After that I went to my theme folder and uploaded the theme I got here into my cms theme folder with the rest of the themes it (php nuke) came with.

After completing these uploads I went through and set

* CHMOD 777 modules/AutoTheme/autotheme.cfg
* CHMOD 777 modules/AutoTheme/_compile/
* CHMOD 777 modules/AutoTheme/_cache/
* CHMOD 777 themes/YOURTHEME/theme.cfg
* CHMOD 777 themes/.

as stated in the install notepad file from the atlite_87 folder.

then I went to my admin panel where I saw the auto theme icon, clicked it. It loaded the admin for it and it has a selection option for the wowhorde3 template....I select it, hit save. It doesnt load. The preview option doesn't work either.

I am so confused and frustrated can you please help me?

Wow, super fast response. That seems to have fixed it. Thank you Smile The theme is pretty - money well spent imo Smile Will my users have to select the theme themselves to make it appear? I got this for a new guild/clan I'm starting and trying to set everything up when I get time so we can get going after the holidays are over Smile Btw Happy Holidays to you Smile

Any new user will take the default theme from Admin-Preferences
