Donation Theme Support - Editing the Headers ? static - Aug 11, 2005 - 07:12 PM Post subject: Editing the Headers ?
I have searched and searched this forum with no luck. I am completely new to Photoshop. I get how to save it to web and all that, but is there a tutorial on how to actually edit the the text in your PSD's in Photoshop?
Any help you guys can offer would rock.
Also is there a PSD for the sub3d blue theme?Ray - Aug 11, 2005 - 08:41 PM Post subject:
I have prepared a quick series of pics that I hope explain it faster and better than words alone.
I hope this is enough to get you started. Before I start to mess with headers and such I always make sure to make a copy and use it for my messing around with. This way you always have the original one safe and secure just in case you make a bad mistake. (As I have done)
Remember to save your new handy work by "saving to web" this will save the images that you need to send to the server.static - Aug 11, 2005 - 10:02 PM Post subject:

are you sure that you are using the right layer?
also Ray, you forgot a step.. Clicking on the layer. Because if the user tries to click away from the text box and do a dragging style I doubt it will work like described. steveerwin - Aug 26, 2005 - 12:46 AM Post subject:

Where is it that you save the picture file (I assume back in the images file) and where do you put the HTML part? When I save images/HTML, I get two separate things.
Also, even when I ostensibly overwrite the already existing image with one titled the same, the old one still shows up so I get this squashed double look. What am I doing wrong?
Apologies in advance for being a dolt. mars - Dec 18, 2005 - 08:32 PM Post subject:
You are using Wow6X correct?
The images created after saving for web go into themes/wow6X/images
Then make sure you have caching turned OFF in Xanthia Admin
Store Templates in Database OFF

I'm HORRIBLE at using photoshop, so this is probably a really stupid question, but I just bought the wow4 theme, and I can't figure out how to edit the header. When I open the PSD file, there's only one layer, and I can't edit the text. I tried doing it the way you posted, but it doesn't work.mars - Jan 04, 2006 - 08:50 PM Post subject:
What version of Photoshop are you using?ace2011 - Jan 04, 2006 - 09:29 PM Post subject:
8.0 I think. I got it from a friend, so I'm not positive what version it is.Pegrin - Sep 13, 2007 - 12:22 AM Post subject:
Ok I am having hte same problem as ace is and i am using photoshop CS version 8 i can get version 9 but having been thru graphics class were they taught us using both version I am wondering since 9 hac no changes to layering options when opening a psd file to edit if ther is something I am missing.
the error when i try open to edit is unknown data has been encountered reading layer 2 and will be discarded. i get the same error for layer 3, is it possible to edit this using macromedia fireworksmars - Sep 13, 2007 - 01:28 AM Post subject:

The header for WowStone was done with Photoshop CS2, can you get that version?
If you can't then email me and I will work on another way for you to edit the header.
